Kyra Brown turns hair into art. Her expertise with color and styling combined with a deep commitment to wanting her clients to feel good inside and out about their hair is what makes her a highly sought after hair stylist and educator.

Kyra started her career at the Aveda Institute of Chicago and has trained with master stylists and creative directors from Chicago, New York, and Milan. She has been privileged enough to have worked with numerous brands including Mizani, FHI Tools, Wella Professional, Kadus Professional, Alfaparf Professional and presently Design Me Haircare.

Kyra has received several awards and accolades during her career, some include being a recipient of the Top 100 Stylist 2021 for Modern Salon, a finalist for Alfaparf Milano Professional Color Competition 2021, and a One Shot Hair Awards Top 25 and Top 100 2023

This year, Kyra earned a spot as a top contestant on the inaugural season of competition show Hairstyle on Discovery Plus Channel. She placed Runner Up and showcased a sculptural Afro for her finale look!

Kyra thrives in working with texture, making her an expert in executing hair styles, color, and cuts for diverse clients. Her salon KY & CO Space, located in Chicago is a safe created environment dedicated to providing custom experiences for her clients. Her attention to detail, creativity, and love for hair helps her achieve great results consistently every time.

Kyra is also driven by sharing her skills to help spread best practices and has a true passion for the betterment and professional development of other hairdressers. Kyra established The  KY & CO Academy to support any hairdresser eager to grow, advance, and perfect their craft.

Kyra currently is apart of the DesignMe brand as a Design Artist working on photo shoot campaigns and platform work on stages .
